The Z with the engine relocation I remember was probably a 2+2 and its engine block was unlikely to be a VG30DE** The engine bay had a whole heap of piping, and I think the hatch was non-original. Though this showcar would have been done years ago by a professional group whom would've used it to show what could be done by their company - ie money no object and specialized skill invested without question. The revelation being you'd be dropping tens of thousands of dollars into such a project for it to be a viable outcome. Mid ship engines usually need to be dropped from under the car for service/maintenance, thus having the chassis designed/modified for this to be possible. I will also put to you that the Mid Engine notion really shouldn't be fathomed as the quintessential element of weight distribution or a holy factor for sport cars. Most mid engine cars are a pain in the A to live with!
